But Daisuke… They look so cute on you!!!

I hate coming up with post titles sometimes.
Daisuke in a new kimono and haori (I’m slowly losing count on how many he has now). I purchased it off of ebay from a seller and artist that turned out to be from MD. Won the auction on saturday and got it on tuesday!
I really wanted it for the haori. It looked lovely in the auction pictures. The rest of the set looked a bit too purple at the time and maybe too feminine for what I wanted for him but handmade… local. I’m sold. When I got it I just fell in love with the entire set. It’s so gorgeous and it’s perfect on Daisuke’s lanky SDgr body. He will be wearing this set quite often.

So the lovely Mr Head is here and I love him to pieces. Jamie of Lightlybattered did an amazing job. He looks as though he was sculpted this way and not modded. The mod work is smooth and flawless and the face up is gorgeous. I love the shape of his eye. For my first experience with sending a head out to be modded and painted, I would say it was so worth the time and money and I see no problem doing it again. Love him<3

So I got images of Mr Head the other day and I’m just too happy!! If you are wondering gabriel (doa) of lightlybattered modded this lovely boy for me. What a beautiful job she did! This is my first time ever sending a head out to be modded or even given a face up. Up until now if any of my boys needed painting I had done the job myself. But in this particular situation I wanted to have his eyes closed. This would entail the use of epoxy and airbrushing to blend. Two things that I had either never done or don’t trust myself to do. Miss Seijikat had recommended Jamie after having Natsuki’s face up done by her last year (talk about gorgeous). The mods themselves are so smooth and clean and the face up is amazing. So happy with the beautiful work Jamie had done and I can’t wait to get the head to put the rest of him together.

More doll ramblings under the cut More»

So I have two heads that I would like to have modded. I want to open the eyes on my Drayton Vamp head (that would Drayton#4 in my collection of Drayton2 heads) which I can do myself but I’m having doubts at times. There are not a lot of this sculpt out there and as far as I know MSDoll is not casting any more of these at this moment. I just want to make them more dreamy than completely open (like Hitomu’s eyes). The doubt isn’t whether I can or not but more about if I should… Absolutely silly thoughts because it’s my head and I can do whatever I want with it, grrr…

The second head I want modded is the NS school A head I purchased at Dolpa last year. I would like to close his eyes a little(lovely example who belongs to Channel’s toybox…. love this boy to bits<3<3). This is something I know that I can not do... or least haven't tried and I don't feel comfortable using my School A as an example or test subject. Has any of my lovely doll friends had this type of work done or can they recommend someone? I'm completely lost when it comes to mods like this because it's the first time I've ever thought of having it done. I've sworn off dolls for a while to finish the ones I have(>_>’… right) and these two are one the top of the list (too many floating heads… I really should think about selling some of them).

I know I said that I had no doll plans for this year… yet, twice (here and here) in a short amount of time Channel TOYBOX has reminded me that I need a modded NS School A or a NS SWD School A to go with the School A I got at Dolpa (you know, the one I was going to sell to recoup some of the money spent on Aki… but didn’t).

By the way, her site also reminds me that I really want one of those gorgeous shirts of hers. So pretty… And I need to build a good collection on short haired wigs, preferably mohair. That or learn to make my own wefts with all that wool I’ve been buying. Going to her site daily has to stop. The list of dolly needs is getting longer and longer with each visit.

deep v in plum

So I think I finally found a color for Aki. The color is called blackcurrant and it’s a deep dark plum. Finally. When I was at Neko Muffin asked if I had ever tried making a deeper cut v-neck. When I first went into making the v-neck style I did have a deep v-neck in mind. Because, you know, I love me some v-necks and the deeper the better (I think I have this slight fondness for the neck, collar bone and shoulder area, if you can’t tell by now. Pilates you scarred me for life). The first attempt was a total failure. So I went back and shortened it a bit. After the con when this particular yarn came in I thought I would give it a go. I had a better understanding this time around and I think it worked out. It’s hard to tell in the photo (this yarn is also extra fuzzy and my photo skills are… crap) but the collar really hugs his chest and shoulders. More so than the shorter “v”. I’m happy and Aki has his sweater. This one isn’t completely finished (the ends need to be woven in) but when it is I’ll take proper photos.

Uh I kind of said in my last post that the next few would be Aki-centric. Here is a little Hito and Aki to mix it up a bit

I wanted to give these photos a little bit of a vintage feel… or whatever you call it-_-,. The two together crack me up though. Hito looks a bit irritated in the first photo. I could have been taking too long to take the photo or Aki said something offensive.
