So he has finally arrived… though in all seriousness he’s here a lot soon than expected. Still no name so I will be on the search this weekend. For the time being I’ve been calling him Puff-n-Stuff (horrible, I know). He’s a Volks Puff and first Yosd boy that made me go “awww…”. There is a long story on how I missed out on this guy when he was re-release this past summer but I’ll save you all from the boring details. I finally have him and that’s that. He’s so freakin’ cute!! I could totally nom nom on those cheeks of his.

Besides clothes he needs his seams sanded, a new wig, new eyes and I’m still not sure what to do about his face up. I may just touch it up a little bit and leave it at that. I’m actually liking it a bit more seeing it in person than seeing it advertised or in photos. Other than the things mentioned before, he most definitely has his little spot within the rest of the boys. I’ll eventually get into that a bit later but for now he needs a name.

Well, I’m back from the Maryland sheep and wool festival. …I am so exhausted. As soon as I get some energy I’ll be making my festival post on the semi daily. I thought in the mean time I would just kind of update the dolly blog with related doll topics.

This was my very first time at the festival. I had only dreamed about going for about ten years. Such a different environment compared to the conventions and other show I’ve gone to. We noted that even though the festival was huge… bigger than say Otakon, no one carried around walkie-talkies (sp?). I’ve never seen this at any show before. So laid back and relaxed. I did get to see one local doll collector this weekend. Ann (thanate) and her friend Ruth stopped by to say hello, looking very relaxed and very summery (I wore jeans the first day… a very stupid idea). I hope you ladies had a fun time.

i really fought with this one. i thought there would be better bodies out there for him but no matter how much i searched i just couldn’t one. i decided on volk’s sd13 because i figured it was a happy medium. not too young, not too mature. thanks to rosa on doa, i was able to get one.

anyway, it’s here and right after attaching hito’s head “pretty” was the first thing that came to mind. the sd13 boy’s body is a very “pretty” body. it actually suits hito. though i still have to get used to him having shoulder’s. emile’s body had none what so ever. (it’s also heavy but not as heavy as tak’s elfdoll body thankfully).
i’m happy to say i love it. the only thing he needs now a his seems sanded, a full body blushing and a tiny tattoo on the back of his neck. as supportive as the mr is he just doesn’t see hito with a tattoo. hito has his reasons.
i tried a few of the sweaters on him and besides his sweater fitting like a glove the sleeves on a few of them were short so i’m going to add a few rows to the pattern. on the other hand, the wrist warmer’s were a perfect fit. they look nicer on the volk’s hand then the mudoll’s.

btw, the sweater above is the newest one and the first one getting ready for otakon(this photo was taken before it was blocked). i tried a new type of collar this time by shaping it using “bind offs” in specific places while i continued to knit. i like the results.

well after a little worry this morning and contacting msdoll the ems tracking number still didn’t register. i knew she had sent out the doll. that was never an issue at all. i was wondering if the number was incorrect. no sooner after i sent my message to the msdoll bbs board (how embarrassing) did i get a phone call from my mom saying that may package was there and that kevin was dropping it off. i was one ecstatic and relieved woman.

i took all of the doll arrival photos that i could and even messed around with him before putting his proper head on. when i did i was a bit taken back. now this is going to sound odd for a non doll person but i was was more then taken back. i was shocked. i kept asking myself “is this was my little hito?”. was this the same little beauty taking all of my obsessive attention lately?

it’s not like the sculpt has taken over the blog or anything.
today i received my package from msdoll today and not only did it include the head that i ordered but a “junk cast” of the same sculpt. msdoll’s reason, “so that you can practice your face ups”. honestly, how lovely is that? it may not seem like a lot to some but it means a ton to me. thank you so much msdoll!
