I can’t believe it’s been over a month since my last post (even longer on my not so daily blog). I’m alive and well. Things are going lovely at the moment. Work is just crazy busy (good kind of crazy) and so much so that I was given an opportunity to take on a rather large time consuming job to work on durning my free time. I will talk about this one else where because it was super challenging, I am rather proud of it and other than the casting and mold making part, it doesn’t really relate to bjds or this blog. So that on top of commissions I had taken on right before accepting the job, I was a busy girl.

I have been sort of keeping up with things thru instagram and tumblr but thats been pretty much it (lj has been kind of downer at times ಠ_ಠ). I do have a ton of silly phone photos to share. Also since the Mr recently received a new camera body I have sort of inherited his old DSLR. Oh goodness, watch out! If you are one of those who thinks you can do no wrong with a good DSLR, well think again. I will prove you wrong. I had my first lesson in using a Nikon D80 and boy oh boy… The Mr is a patient man but me and electronics are not a good match. He wants me to avoid using the Auto features and go as manual as I’m willing to go but I’m just “just show me how to use the darn thing ಠ_ಠ!”. I totally agree with him but it’s going to take me a long time for it all to sink in. Anyway… The photo above was one of my first attempts (with a few filter phone apps on top).

Yasujiro (Mr Z) and Daisuke (Mr Head). I finally settled on the name for my Yukinojo. The name had to masculine and old fashion. With the help of a certain lady we narrowed it down to Yasujiro. Both boys are named after one of my favorite directors and character actors from the early post war era in Japan. I thought it was fitting since it’s a rather inspiring time period for me at the moment

Mr Z is fitting in quite nicely. He still need so much to make him complete… Clothes are going to be the big thing since the clothes for that time are really not that fashionable in the doll hobby right now. I’ll be looking to find someone who would be willing to make the clothes or get the old clothes construction books out and give tailoring another go ( it’s been over a decade since I took tailoring classes).

Ugh, I knew this was going to be a long one… Anyway, it seems like I will have quite a bit of time on my hands from now going into the new year… All the way through spring (another long story about that). So I hope to be posting a bit more. Especially doll projects that I have been meaning to do for a long time…
