I’ve been so obsessed with collars lately. This little etsy blog post threw fuel to the fire the other day and felt that one needed to be made (btw, does anyone read etsy blog post? I love them). I have several ideas running through my head right now, including a beastly little number that involves yarn that looks very much like fur when knitted and some ultra thin faux leather I ordered from Korea. Would my boys wear them? Most likely not, but honestly, do they even have a say? The one above was my first attempt. I liked the raw edges but I plan on using a tighter weave the next time around. This one is shedding like mad.
I’ve been busy working on a few commissions this week. I listed a few items on etsy last week in case anyone is interested. It’s a little experiment. I didn’t list international shipping just yet but feel free to ask me about it.

“Hitomu and his little kappa guardian, Mizuko walking to the festival”
This photo was taken by the Mr
We had such a lovely time at the festival yesterday. Very early in the morning, the Mr, Katie (deityofdeath) and I met up with my sister Cait and her friend Andi at the train station and took a little ride up to DC for their annual Cherry Blossom Street Matsuri. This year I only took Hito and Mizu-poo but dressed them up in their best little festival yukata. Hito wore his leveldevil Yukata, made by Muffin and Mizuko wore a girls yukata that I purchased one year at Dollectable. Yes, he is wearing a girls yukata. I’m not explaining why just yet. I need to make him another that is better fitting and that needs to be a bit worn and aged looking. Once it’s made, then I’ll explain. I did make sure to have him wear a boy’s style obi which I plan on keeping.

Not much in the news of dolls. As you can see, still no doll meet photos. I even have a meet this weekend as well (I still need to buy train tickets… tomorrow most likely).
The hand (for those who do not know) is doing much better. I’ll save the gross details for the semi-daily, but even though the wounds managed to freak the Mr out they are healing fast (though they still gross me out to look at them now. I can still knit (slowly) and I finished spinning some gold/mustard colored yarn for a doll sweater I have planned. Though I still have issues writing, drawling, eating with a fork and spoon… but not chop sticks for some odd reason.
I was hoping to do a little painting before this weekend but I’m not sure now with the index finger. I want to give Hito his tattoos. After discovering this lovely website featuring an amazing tattoo artist Amanda Wachob a few months back, I’ve been totally inspired. Her modern pieces remind me of delicate watercolor paintings. This is something I will be keeping in mind for myself in the future. Maybe seek her out to get a piece done but for now I may attempt to paint something in a similar style on Hito. I think it would suiting for him.
